Do you bring your avatar with you?

Some people involved with the Microsoft Passport effort feel that people aren't interested in keeping the same identity on the web. Looking at various web sites and forums on the 2D web, there is significant support for that argument -- you fill out the same registration information everywhere.

However, when it comes to your 3D persona -- your avatar -- is the rule different? Would you want to upload photos and customize an avatar per world you want to interact in? I don't think so. I think that the avatar is so much more "you" than a web forum identity, that you want to create an avatar you feel good about, and bring it with you.
